Forwarded
An interesting phenomena occurs every once in a while at
our house. We get mail meant for someone
else. Now you may not think that is so unusual as the post office does make
mistakes, but this is a little different. This isn't mishandled mail, it is in
a category all it's own. The piece I got a was for a pastor who
lived here... 10 years earlier! (I think someone's address book needs a bit of work.) So, I
forward the mail.
I don't know if the letter is a blessing, surprise,
encouragement or just a form letter. My job was to pass it along to the right
person.
Among God's people there is a forwarding network where we
can know what we are forwarding. God intends for us to pass along what has been
a blessing to us. Paul was a constant participant in that process. He carried
blessings from church to church. When writing to the Philippians (v. 4:16) he
said, "for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my
needs."
God's blessings on the Philippians were being forwarded
to Paul who then forwarded them to those he was ministering to at present.
When God blesses you today, make sure you forward the
blessing. Maybe it will be a word, a smile, a hug, or perhaps a financial gift.
Just as Jesus Christ gave his life that we might have salvation to pass along
to others, we should forward our daily blessings.
